Vanilla and Pear Chopped Bread Pudding
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a pie dish.
- Lightly butter the bread on both sides.
- Roughly cut the bread into cubes and loosely arrange in the pie dish with the chopped pears, flaked almonds and the chocolate drops.
- Place the milk, cream, castor sugar, vanilla extract and ground nutmeg into a mixing bowl.
- Add the eggs and whisk to combine. Pour the milk mixture over the bread mixture.
- Drizzle the golden syrup over the pudding and sprinkle the sugar over the top.
- Bake for 35 – 45 minutes, or until the centre is just set and the top is golden and crispy.
- Serve with the Condensed Milk Sauce.
Condensed Milk Sauce
- Place the condensed milk in a pan, and gently heat.
- Stir in the custard and cream. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Serve warm with the Vanilla and Pear Chopped Pudding.
